The Kuranda Boarding Pass

Your driver will greet you at pickup, collect your voucher and issue your Kuranda Boarding Pass.
There is no need to queue, as your pre-allocated Kuranda Scenic Railway ticket is already included on your Boarding Pass.

Kuranda Scenic Rail
The Kuranda Scenic Railway is one of Australia’s most memorable rail journeys.
The journey takes around 90 minutes and travels from Freshwater Station to Kuranda through World Heritage listed rainforest, past waterfalls and into the spectacular Barron Gorge.
Along the way, passengers can enjoy commentary about the railway, the region and the history of this remarkable engineering achievement.

Freshwater Connection Station
Freshwater Connection is a popular departure point for the Kuranda Scenic Railway.
Set among tropical gardens and heritage railway carriages, it is a relaxed place to begin the journey to Kuranda.
The station was built as a tribute to the pioneers who constructed the Kuranda Scenic Railway between 1887 and 1891.

Kuranda Village
Kuranda is a famous rainforest village located in the mountains above Cairns.
Visitors have free time to explore the village, browse the markets, visit wildlife attractions, enjoy local cafes and take in the relaxed rainforest atmosphere.
Kuranda is also known for its arts, crafts, souvenirs and tropical garden setting.

Kuranda Original Rainforest Markets
The Kuranda Original Rainforest Markets began in 1978 and remain one of the village’s most popular attractions.
The markets feature local art, handmade crafts, natural products, food, gifts and rainforest-style shopping.
